I love the little duck figure I included -- as my Dad found out one day that I love ducks. My Dad loves to give -- so when he finds out you like something, watch out. I now have SEVERAL sitting around my home. This painting is a little different for me, as usually I simplify everything in the painting. But this time, I decided to add the patterns of the tablecloth as well as adding a lot of paint and texture to the subjects. It's quite easy to get caught up in all the details and lose the spontaneity of a painting, but if you look closely at this painting, it's quite a mess.
"Along the way" is a title I came up with for this painting -- as I've been thinking a lot lately about my life and the things I'm learning along the way. I'm very thankful for so many things the Lord has blessed me, but oh the lessons I've learned and continue to learn. I pray that the Lord takes away my pride and humbles me to be the woman He wants me to be. And I also ask that He be gentle in doing so.
